FOOD GIFT PROGRAMME

Food Gifts are distributed to vulnerable families each month and the need for this assistance has been increasing over the years. Duration of assistance is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to corporate and welfare organizations, schools and individuals of the community for their continuous support and regular donations of food items. In particular, we are grateful to Bo Tien Welfare Services Society as a long term supporter of our Food Gift Programme.

Donations have also been received from corporates such as Huat Sheng Provision Store, Filtration Solution Pte Ltd, Joo Guan Seng Motor Service, Sealand Automation Pte Ltd, S & K Electrical Engineering Pte Ltd, Teck Kheng Auto Supply, Tian Seng Hardware Pte Ltd. We are also heartened by donations in-kind from individuals directly or through NTUC Fairprice throughout the year.

Project R.I.C.E + – 21 July 2019

An annual community service project by Singapore Red Cross, youth volunteers distributed more than 100 packs of food and household necessities to less privileged families under our Food Gift Programme.

Proteach (Bukit View) – 23 January 2020

In an attempt to bring cheer and brighten the festive period during Chinese New Year, children and teachers from the student care centre donated various food and household items, and even a box of mandarin oranges for families under our care.

Satellite Distribution Centre @ Jurong West

In collaboration with NTUC Active Ageing Hub @ Jurong Central Plaza, Loving Heart set up a satellite distribution centre to reach out to to clients living further from the centre.

Enhancement in 2020

In March 2020, Loving Heart enhanced our food gift programme to assist families more holistically. We added fresh eggs and temperate fruits to our food gift packs to enhance nutritional values. We also introduced household necessities. To assist families with young children and elderly members, we also launched an enhanced package with formula milk powder, baby diapers, and/or adult diapers.
